I've always noticed that when I driving that my interior lights seems to blink slightly. I was dring last night and the lights started to blinks worse and the check engine light came on. It went off about 2-3 minutes later. It did this about 3 times last night. So I check the codes today. The car had 217/332 stored codes. The car seems to run fine. When this happened my power antenna stop working to last night. I'm wondering if maybe the altenator is bad and throwing false coes. I noticed the light slightly blinking since I boutht the car about 6 months ago. I didn't pay much attention to it. What do you guys think??

I check all the fuses. They power antenna fuse is ok. I can hear the motor running but the antenna doesn't go up or down. What usually goes bad with the antenna??

the 332 code has always pointed to the "jets" inside the intake being cloged. the only real way to fix this is to take the intake off and clean them out. it may be possible to clean them through the tq while the intake is still on but i'm not sure if that would be enough. just to let you know it will not hurt anything if it's not fix for awhile. thumb

This statement is incorrect as to it "always" being the cause. There are several other reasons which have been well documented. Clogged EGR passages is one of the more common reasons, though.

Neither of those codes should affect the interior lights or the power antenna.

What interior lights are blinking and what, exactly, do you mean by "blinking"?

I saw somewhere on the board to test the egr valve by removing the vaccum line while car was running and apply vaccumn to the valve. I did this with a vaccumn tester. The idle started to lower and engine ran rough like it should. I've noticed since I've owned the car that when I'm cruising with the car and the car is in OD with the convertor locked I get a shutter. It is worse with the a/c on. Maybe I do have a ignition problem. How would I check for this. I checked the connector for the coils. I cleaned the pins to be safe.

All off the lights blink. By that I mean if I driving the lights will dim and get brighter very rapidly. I noticed that the altenator seems loud. I gonna have the charging system tested first. I think I have a couple of seperate problems.

How would I clean the EGR ports. Are those ports inside the intake behind the throttle body

94 SHO,

It would seen you have several problems which may be related, or not.

The 337, ie "Insuficient EGR flow detected" has been addressed.

The radio antenna is the least of your worries, fix that last.

The 217 code, "EEC (PCM) Processor detected coil 3 primary circuit failure" needs further investigaing.

You blinking lights may indeed be your charging system, such as the alternator, or a battery with a bad cell. Testing the charging system is a very good idea. The voltage regulator may have gone bad.

For the 217 code check all of the connections at the DIS, including the ground provided by the four screws that hold it to the crossover tube, the bolts that hold the tube to the heads also are "grounds", and then check the connections at the Coil.

Check all of your grounds, especially the main ground at the battery, in the fender well next to the battery, the main ground to the engine, etc.

A poor ground connection, or a ground cable that is corroded, could also cause the blinking lights to , ah, blink shrug . rangerj :D

My altenator was louder today. I replaced the alenator and battery today. I ran the car for 15 minutes. The lights don't blink anymore. I think that problem is solved.

The antenna just needs a new mast. The motor is running when a turn radio on and off. No biggie.

I gonna see if the codes come back. I think that I might have a ignition problem. I think that is why I get a shutter while driving at low rpms. It is worse with air on or going up hills while covertor is locked up in OD. Where is the Dis module located at??

94SHO,

From the passenger side of the car look at the intake manifold. In the middle of the crossover tube is a rectangular box with about 6 wires coming out of each side. That is the DIS module.
