I might be asking a stupid question, but what the ****. I will be taking the measurements of the engine bay in my aerostar can anybody help me out here, i would like to know the 3.0 or 3.2 length and width and height of these engines. Another question is what wires would i need to adapt with the original wiring in my 95 aerostar 3.0 to make this happen. I have read different articles but it really was talking about the wiring. I was wanting to keep the look of factory though we know it isn't. Any help would be great. As far as measurements i was meaning with the intake and exhaust on the engine. Any information will help me out a lot.

Thats a cool 68 cougar you have and thanks for the measurements. Another stupid question possibly, do yall know what wires i would need to play around with so i can get this project going so i can get this to work? The thing im curious with is adapting the body harness with the engine harness because i know the shos setup is for d.i.s setup and my harness is for a vulcan with a distributor. That's also what im curious about. I do know my a4ld will work, and yes maybe with some mods but it just to get everything to work like factory. Also i do plan on taking pics of my 2 vehicles together, and how would i add that to my signature. Please help.

Thanks, that's my first car I bought in 1982... still have it.
I'm still figuring the wiring on my 1988 RX7 convertible with a SHO 3.0.
The best thing is to get wiring schematics for both cars.
Then figure what you need to retain for the Aerostar, what you need to retain from the SHO engine, and what needs to be combined.
For instance, I plan to have AC so I'm using the RX7 climate controls but using the SHO AC compressor.
Same with the fuel pump, gages, cruise and such.
I use a host site 'photobucket.com' for my photos on this site.

Here's my RX7 project: http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=119105

you will need the factory wiring diagram for the Aerostar. Then you will need to read Off_Road_SHO's thread on how to connect the SHO motor into something other than a SHO.

Then you will have to figure out how to connect the SHO wires to the right place on the Aerostar.

Thanks very much yall keep me informed please and keep giving me ideas i dont want to give up. My van needs so much more than the( yawn) 140 horse vulcan engine. Instead i would rather have the(RRR) 220 or more horse power. In otherwords " More Power!!!"lol of course ill rebuild the trans but i want to keep all acessories working. Yes i was trying to imitate tim allen but oh well he's a car nut as well.

Don't forget one head will hangover the transmission. Just look at my picture of engine trans out of car. Also the thermostat radiator line is at trans side also. So running a radiator line from there to radiator comes into play.
On throttle cable. The SHO one pull from the front of the of throttle body. I modified and made a bracket for mine to pull from cable running over the engine. Maurice
