Hi. I'm new to the forums and need to jump right in (will introduce myself later).

I have two SHOs: a loaded 1994 ATX with a problematic motor and transmission and a 1993 MTX parts car with a good running motor and transmission.

Can I pull the ATX motor and tranmission and drop the MTX motor and tranny right in? I read some of the threads about doing swaps, but it seems most people are trying to mate the ATX motor to the MTX tranny. I'm trying to do something different.

My master plan is to rebuild the 3.2 this summer and mate it to the MTX when I have more time. I really just need to get a working car right now and swapping everything together seems like it might be the easiest route to go.

Thanks for your input!

Swapping both should work just fine. Include the wiring harness and PCM in the swap.

Swap shifters, install the clutch pedal and its wiring, etc....

Take the engine, tranny, subframe together, maybe even with the steering rack and suspension, from the MTX and move it together as an assembly to the ATX. There'll be some rewiring to do as the harnesses are different, but with both cars there you can move parts back and forth as necessary.

Cruise controls are different, too, if you want those, and the a/c stuff is different if you want that. Swapping the entire drivetrain together will make some things easier, a few things harder, but overall I'm guessing it'll be less hassle.
