I thought you could tweak the computer with a tuner to fix this. Maybe not?

There is no significant engine performance issue w/ or w/o the egr, but the CEL will come on once the engine is warm, unless the pcm is reprogrammed.

Personally, with an automatic I'd buy either a tweecer or a LPM just for the wonders it can do for shifting. Then, eliminating an EGR is a simple matter of replacing the intake and rear exhaust manifolds with non-EGR replacements, or (if you're cheap like me), freeze plugs and exhaust cement to plug the holes after you snap the tube off. Yes, it works. It has worked for over a year with no problems whatsoever now on my wife's 95 ATX.

You forgot to change the whole engine bay harness , the ccrm , and splice the huge connector behing the airbox , (yea cause atx/mtx harness dont plug in that connector)

What? LoL You don't have to splice that! Only remove 2 dashes to get the matching dash harness...

Man that was fun. I'll do it for about $600... lol that sounds about right... don't forget it will probally need a new wiper motor too. :)

whats an X2J computer? and what does it do?

X2J is the pcm code for the mtx cars. (No, you cannot just put one of those in your atx car.)

Unfortunately, as Phoenix, I, and others know from experience, there is a lot of work involved in a full atx->mtx conversion, especially if you include all the wiring changes required to have it be 'fully' mtx.....
