I was thinking about getting elemental designs subs possibly one of their amps with my tax return. I just wanted to hear from owners about what models they have of them and some feedback. I have read that they are very nice for the price but I just want some more opinions before i buy them. Thanks.

Post some pics if you have them too!

I have 4 of the 8" EHQS subs right now and had 2 of their SQ10s. Both are nice subs for the money well i got in on the $5 deal for the EHQS speakers and got the SQ10s when they first came out for $55. What model are looking to get for sub/amp?

I'd say go new for sure. Some of the first models were a little unreliable. Again, what kind of music will you be listening to? Do you want the small 8" or 6" subs? Are you thinking more along the lines of 10" to 12-15" subs?

I've heard good things about them from the past couple years.

Read the sig.

MTX. I only listen to rock , and rap every now and then, just to rattle my brain!

For the price (Crutchfield ~$130 for the subs and box), you can hardly beat the sound. The amp is up to you. I bought a 1000 watt off of ebay for ~$70, and I haven't had any problems at all.

I've heard mixed things about the Elemental Design subs. Mostly good though.

My friend gave me his old subzero box (12") and a 600w rockford amp so im just looking at getting a single 12" to put in the box. I was thinking about the 13.kv2 maybe the 13ov.2. I really dont want to spend more than $200. Another sub i was looking at was the JL Audio 12W3v3-2.

Should i just order wiring off ebay? i dont really want to spend much on wiring like the overpriced rockford kit at best buy. My car has all the remote wires and rca cables wired to the back already so i would probably only need the power cable.

You will need power and ground wires. Wires are wires, size is the only thing that matters.

I'm running ebay wires, Legacy brand I believe. They work just fine, and I think they were under $20. Just make sure the wattage is correct, better to over buy on wire than under buy, you can't really get too heavy of wire.

eD, excellent products. Cant go wrong with a 13kv2, if you have the money the ov2 is a good upgrade though. Excellent products and amazing customer service.

Ditto to what kdawg said about knukonceptz.com I get all of my wiring for car installs there, very very good product and a very very good price. Worth spending 8 bucks more on it, than saving 8 bucks and getting crappy stuff off ebay. Knu is quality wiring and from a person who has had both cheap ebay and knu, knu is the way to go for sure.

I just ordered the wiring finally after they finally got it back in stock a few days ago. I was just wondering how you guys ran your wiring to the back. Did you just go through the firewall or what

Just thought i would post up the finished product, hits really nice and sounds great. I would recommend elemental design subs to people, a great sub for the price. Sounds better than my friends 2 10" alpine subs

What amp are you using to to push it? I'd spin that amp around and clean up the wiring a bit. But thats just me :thumb:. That ed looks really clean though. Glad you like it.

I'm looking at upgrading my subs and front stage more soon :woohoo:.
One 15" and 1400 watts doesn't seem like enough anymore. haha

Yeah the amp was mounted like that when my friend sold it to me. i was thinking about mounting it to the back of the box when i was putting it in but i was lazy after trying to find a hole to feed the wires through on the firewall :) I will probably mount it on the back soon though.
