I've noticed on occasion lately that I will go to start the car, and the clock, radio, and climate controls have all been reset. It's as if the battery was disconnected, then re-connected. Any idea what may be causing this?
Hey!!! that happens to me once in a blue moon as well. My best guess is that the current spike from the starter causes the battery to dip below 7 volts causing the electronics to reset. This is sort of the same thing as disconnecting for a very short period of time. Im not sure however, if it resets the PCM.
It could be anything from a current spike to a bad battery cable, to a frayed wire grounding out somewhere. Could be an interesting and long journey...
