I was wondering if its ok to buy the stock replacement shocks for the SHO, and then just put some Eibach lowreing springs around them, and put them on the car? has anyone tried this? how does it ride?

Are you referring to the stock struts or the GR2s?RI-SHO:
If they can keep up with my "lift off the ground rear-wheel" tight springs for 2years then they could handle the Eibachs, especialy if you do not AutoX etc.
I think we're all in agreement here that it would be a mistake to combine Eibachs with stock replacements. If you're after a stock-like ride and you've decided to replace your stock springs with Eibachs, you would probably be very happy with the Eibach/KYB GR2 combination. Even though the dampening of the GR2 is a little bit firmer than the stock strut, because the Eibach is progressive and is initially quite soft you should end up with a comfortable, yet more controlled ride. I wouldn't be surprised if you found the combo more comfortable than stock, yet surprisingly controlled through any kind of turn or corner.skippie:

Save the money you were gonna spend on the eibachs and spend it on struts. you'll get more driving enjoyment from the struts than the springs.skippie:
Well, I guess I'll just wait and save up and get the Eibach's with some good shocks. I was just hoping I would save a little dough going with stock shocks. But I guess that would be a bad idea. And yeah, I was looking at the GR2's on tirerack too RI-SHO. thumbs_u
