Since you have an MTX (by your sig), you will only have an EGR if it was a CA car. 49 state MTX's do not have EGRs typically. The EGR is located on the back side of the motor on the driver's side and connects between the back intake tank and the back exhaist manifold.

Hope that helps.

Your car could very well be a Cali emissions car. It would have had the last nine years to work its way across the country. Granted I am a lot closer to Cali then you but mine is CA emissions equipped.

The EGR valve is visible in this pic

It is the round silver item just below the strut tower brace, and just behind the throttle body.

No CPS! :) If that was bad your car would just up and die. The camshaft sensor is WAAY easier to change; and a failing one would exhibit the bucking behavior you mention. I would replace the cam sensor before your fuel pump, honestly. Of all the Ford pumps I've had die, they just **** the engine without much warning. Alot like a bad crank sensor.

Mine caused problems just like his. Had code 33 to boot :p. Although I DID have a hole in my EGR pipe I had to braze shut, lol!
