hey guys, I am new to this forum and I was wondering about egr tubes. Since California is the only place that demands them, is it possible to remove the tube and the valve? I know this would effect emissions but i do not plan for this to be street legal. Is there any drawbacks besides emissions? Any information will help. thank you guys, you guys are the best. shrug

to remove the egr system i thin you need to change out the rear exhaust manifold, remove the valve, and then plug the manifold and the vacuum lines you have gotten rid of

...and change the computer to a 49 state version.

FWIW, none of the MTXs as I understand it, had EGR, except those originally sold in California.

All of the ATX's did come with EGR.

No noticeable horsepower gain or loss. You just don't have to worry about melting the accelerator cable. The only thing noticeable is a constant check engine light. (Which is why you need to change the computer.) Some of the vulcan intakes have a small metal piece for plugging the egr that fit quite well on the sho intake.
