my wife has a 96 with 187k on her. it threw the 4010 code for insufficient flow to egr valve. she had her egr changed out 2 years ago so i cleaned it, cleaned the iac and the maf sensor and replaced the egr control solinoid on the back of the motor. it fixed the problem for a day or so, it ran great till the code popped back up. and its back to doing the same thing, lack of power, trying to die when comming to a hault, and actualy almost dying comming across the bridge after work each day on i64 her in louisville to new albany.

now my question is, is could it be just a vacume leak? or is it the valve again cuz it was a bit sticky and they are so damn hard to clean. or is it just the fact that the plugs and coils have 100k+ on them and i just need to buy all new coils and plugs? i ask the last one cause ive read alot that its just the coils and coil 8 crossing the maf and sending the wrong codes.

some help would be awsome cause her car is getting worse. the dumb part is that it only does this after its warmed up.

Have you cleaned your intake lately? If not now may be a good time to do it. The EGR passage on the intake gets clogged with lots of gunk and sometimes it can throw a code. If I were you I will clean the intake before throwing parts and spending more money.

no i totaly forgot to clean that. ill do that and see how well it fixes it. i know it could use new coils and plugs as well, they have at least 100k miles on them.

More than likely the DPFEgr sensor on the back of the surge tank.
