Saying "EEC tuner" is a lot like saying "woodworking tool". What EEC tuner are you talking about?

If you can edit the MAF xfer function, spark and fuel tables, then sure, but from the sounds of it you don't really sound like you've got a really good grasp on tuning yet so you might want to get someone else to build a tune for you. You don't want to learn F/I tuning by trial and error.

having owned both, the tweecer is better because it datalogs and inputs a WB02. the eec-tuner had promise back in the day (datalogging etc.), but the eec-tuner-guy gave up on the project when the tweecer came out....they are very similar software based products....

also the eec-tuner-guy ALWAYS returned my emails and provided satisfactory information. I've been waiting for promised tweecer software features (either extra OR free) since I have had the thing.

Agreed, if you can find a way to tune your car without resorting to the tweecer, do it. I simply can not in good conscience endorse it anymore. (sorry Josh/Adam) Too many bugs, not user-friendly, and a horrendous lack of usable documentation, and it seems some have had problems with them 'holding' the tune. If you want something you can tune and forget, tweecer is not the way. An LPM can be burned that will work just fine, if you can find someone who can burn you an LPM.

Might try something else.

Our SCT software is up to the job. I just don't recommend a mail order tune with such variables. For a EEC-V car, it's no big deal. I can tune via the internet and e-mail tunes to download into a flash tuner on that end. But for chip based tuning, it requires the car to be here.

Correct. However, if you're new to tuning, I would heed Chris's warnings and consider either reading up on the available tuning material abroad or have someone else tune your car to start.

There is no direct V6 SHO support for the EEC-Tuner through their website. For support files and information about using an EEC-Tuner on an '89-'95 V6 SHO, visit the SCTuner website here:

http://www.sctuner.net/

I also have updated .gcal files for use with the SCTuner that will bring the software up-to-date with the latest public release of the TwEECer software. Contact me privately for details on this.

While the lack of suitable documentation is a wrong that certainly should have been corrected long ago, I am doing what I can amidst an already busy schedule and several hundred pages of factory material to correct that wrong on my own dime and on my own time. If you look at the updated Getting Started manual that was posted to the TwEECer website awhile back, you will see that Mike Glover has also been busy adding enough material to get most people started down the road with their TwEECer.

Unfortunately, while Josh and I can create, test, and release our own data file updates to the software (which provide you with the functionality to access and modify certain computers with the TwEECer software), and even though we provide feedback and bug reports about the software to Mike directly, we ultimately have no control over the development or release of the software iteself. Depending on how things go, I hope to partially or wholly correct this problem, either by additionally backing another software package with TwEECer support or by putting my years of software engineering experience to work and creating my own software package.

Keep in mind that most of us (including Josh and myself) have day jobs, families, and lives that keep us from pouring all of the time and energy that we would like into this labor of love that we call the SHO (or the TwEECer). ;)

I hear ya Adam, it was not a knock at you or Josh, just the Tweecer itself. It is frustrating to spend a lot of money on an unfinished product and then not get the desired result.

No problem. I truly understand your frustration, which is why I'm trying to do something about it with the upcoming V6 and V8 SHO software updates and freebie tuning material. I just wanted to make sure that everyone had a better idea of what was going on behind the scenes with Josh and myself before they started casting the proverbial stone in the wrong direction. ;)
