ECT/ coolant leak problem any help?

ok i have a leak or something. Now my first question is can a bad ECT (i bought a all plastic on from shucks) my question is can a bad ect cause a leak or steam to come out i am gunna put the old ford one on tommarow but if that isn't it the only other place i could think is right bellow the trottle body the hose that goes to the heater core that is around the area the steam/coolant is coming from... any help would be great. My main question is has anyone heard of a bad ECT leaking or something...? thanks

also what is the torque i should put on the ECT?

ahh alright i found the leak there is a leak in the hose that goes to the trottle body to the engine right underneath a group of wires that goes to ECT, Temp sending unit, I think it is a vacum hose but i am not sure. I am young and dumb ya know. But just thought i would post what was going on incase anyone has the same problem thinking their heater hose is leaking.
