These kind of statements aggravate me. First off, 40k is alot of money, but in the world of cars its really not that much. 40k for a car is on the low-middle end of the spectrum.

Maybe low-middle on what someone could spend, but definitely not low-middle on what people usually spend.

That would depend on where you live. Around here you can't sneeze without seeing a BMW or merc

we've gone from aww crap his engine died, to octane usage and engine engineering to me being called an anti semite then to engine quality and seeking legal council over a faulty engine and now we've gone into blah blah average income and now we are about to roll into Communism

I'll keep my 21yr old hooptie...............

At any rate, I can see both sides. Yes, Ford has done the right thing in fixing the car but damn, if it were me, I would never be able to feel the same way about the car.

Get legal involved and I hope you get a new one. IMHO, I think they should have done that to begin with.

Hey guys!
I bought a new camera, the Canon SX30, I love it...
Oops! wrong thread... wrong forum!
Come on guys let's try to stick to the original thread, it's not nice for the OP (and for others) to receive email notification etc. to end up reading about unrelated stuff...
Let's make an effort to narrow the comments, pictures etc. to the original subject of the thread... if not related, start a new thread (if it talks about SHO or at least cars), if not go on facebook!
Thanks!

I have heard of Mercedes blowing pistons through hoods before, shit happens, and money does not have a factor in it.

I've never heard of that, and I work for MB.

Back to topic, I use 93 in all of my vehicles. They're all force inducted and see very high cylinder pressures. It's insurance against this problem. I've also had a 90 anny SC, 89 XR7, and a 00 GTP. The only motor problem I've had was with the XR7 with blowing HG's going 135ish. My fault entirely. It's your car and if you feel 87 is the way to go in a TTv6, good luck. But your problem originated with cracked plugs, a sure sign of detonation. It ended with a burnt piston. Just saying....

Take a look on the MB forum, from what I remember there have been 3 blown 63 motors.

Not out west here Jason.. Ive seen 911's, GT3 RS's, Lambo's, Ferrari's, I've seen one Ford GT and a new ZR-1 etc. ****, yesterday Tim and I wizzed by an SLK55 AMG.. That being said, I've seen a few of those cars on AAA or dearler tow trucks or on the side of the road. I've seen plenty of Corvettes, Camaro's, Mustangs on flat beds.. Its a machine, they are going to break, it happens. Yes, I understand buying a NEW car should warrant some better sleeping at night knowing that your car is always going to start the next day, but if I wanted to know I was never going to have a problem with my car, I certainly wouldn't buy a performance car.. When you build an engine with a higher hp/liter ratio than a Corvette, it's probably not going to be a zero maintenance 40000000000000 mile car like a plain jane camry or accord...

I agree with way2evil... and i guess that's why I don't understand why the OP is seeking legal advise for a situation that has been handled in a timely and VERY reasonable manner.. Trust me, you could have a MUCH more difficult time warranty or not.. Be glad your getting an entire new engine..

Also, your worried about the dealer not doing a proper job installing it? I bet there is a millage/ warranty for their labor too. Talk to the service manager if you so concerned.

I've been out west... You're talking it up a bit. NEBRASKA has a very low number of those types of cars.
