Thanks I would appreciate at the pics. One thing I have learned before I start a project is research and questions. I want my LCD screen to be a better viewing angle. In the lower din it was not able to tilt very much, and rear passengers could'nt see it that well.

What I did was get a DIN cage for my EATC and pushed it in there... the hardest part was getting the EATC lines to fit.

You need to cut the side tabs off of the EATC. Cut them flush with the unit and put a little electrical tape over it and jam it in.

Gosh, you'd think ford would've put the stock on there...

Something a lil easier and firmer than electrical tape:

when i did that on my 92, I cut the tabs off, then pulled the face off the EATC and ran a couple of self-tapping screws through the lip behind the face.....the screws ran between the EATC unit and the trim ring, then simply snap the faceplate back on and viola! Looks factory! I might just extend my wiring for my head unit and do it again on my 95.....

I too am going to place my monitor up top. It has plenty of wire. I have too many wires back there. I spent 2 hours last time moving wires alone. But I made alot of room. I might go the easy route work 2 hours of OT and pay the local stereo shop......lol

Ya see, I'm torn between what I want to do. I would like to keep my stereo factory. I think it looks good. I also like the idea of having my stereo up top and the ETAC below where I think it should be. The problem is that I have the two unit Tape/receiver and the CD player. I would have to go after market to do the swap.

I'm not in any rush, so I have plenty of time to make up my mind.

What you could try is pull the stock stuff and see if its long enough to fit. Maybe the slave CD cable will fit into the top DIN slot and the EATC in the bottom.

What is a tape deck? Is that the thing that plays those plastic rectangular cartridges with the oxidized strips that run through those motorized gears that turn wheels in the rectangle cartridge?

I have an Alpine CDA 7995 Headunit. I was so thrilled that it played mp3's on CDR's when I got it. I'm at the point now that I could care less about using CD's as a medium for music. I have my iPod hooked to the HU via RCA cables but it's cumbersome. A friend of mine has a Lowrance GPS that plays mp3's stored on an SD card. That's awesome! I want to upgrade to a headunit that has integrated iPod controls and get a navigation system like the Lowrance for dual capability. I hate using CD's anymore.

My girlfriend has an FM modulator for her iPod and it functions well and actually sounds pretty good. I would consider it as an option as well.

Back on topic, I've considered mounting something other than the EATC in that spot for years now (headununit or gauges). Unfortunately the bezel is not flat on the Gen2's so it would be difficult to do and have it look good.
