Quik Question - Do EATC's just quite working? Mine died. Details below

I had my car detailed yesterday and all was well with the EATC until I picked up the car.

The EATC was "Frozen". It was unresponsive to any button push and fan control.

I restarted the car and the EATC was blank.

I checked every fuse under the dash and under the hood and still nothing.

I happen to have a spare EATC I plugged it in and it works fine.

Is there a fuse inside the EATC or is mine fried?

sure, it can just die - it has electronics and wire connections in it, any of which could have croaked.

Plenty of new ones for sale on Ebay. Lots of stores on there that have an excellent selection of NOS inventory and dealer liquidations

It is for negotiation purposes. The detail place caused the failure.

Gotcha. Here are some part numbers for the EATC assemblies:

1990: FODZ-19980-B (green display, soft button?)
1994: F4DZ-19980-A (blue display, hard button)

You can punch those numbers in a fastpartsnetwork.com and get the list prices for each of those units.

Well I tried the "Broken Unit" after a few days of it being in my house and it now works. Hopefully long enough so I can sell the car.

Not trying to press any buttons here(no pun intended), just curious.

It worked fine before I dropped it off. When I picked it up, the dash was dripping with whatever detail sauce they use to shine up the dash and the EATC was unresponsive.

I took it out and put it on a heat register in my house for a few days to dry it out and it seems to be working fine now.

That's all it was. Moisture got in it and it started working again once it dried.

Didn't fully dry out. You might want to hit the front with a hair dryer or something will low heat. Maybe even take it out of the dash and go through it. It's definitely a moisture related problem that should solve itself once fully dry.
