The metal stop on the end of the release handle cable broke on me yesterday. I reached down by the pedal and manually released it so it wasn't a big deal. How do I go about replacing this? Can I just re-crimp some kind of end on it, or do I need to replace the whole handle/cable assembly. I haven't taken the time to really look at it yet, but from what I could see it looks like I'd have to replace everything.

TIA

I don't know if you can recrimp something.

If you need to replace it, you remove the autolamp/dimmer panel and then you can reach in and pull the retainer clip (it is similar to the one that holds the lockset in a door. Once that clip is removed, the whole assembly will slide right out. Visit your local junk yard for a replacement or email us and we can get you one.

Be thankful that it was something simple that broke.
