On my gen 1 my e-brake no longer holds my car in place. I checked the brakes and all good almost brand new. the cable however does have alot of slack in it now. Tried to tighten it up a bit an wouldn't ya know the nut is now part of the threaded rod. (rusted solid) Been hitting it with pb blaster and wd-40 and anyother **** i can spray on in no luck (2 weeks straight) tried heat, vise grips on thread and wrenchs also no luck.

My questions are what else might work and is the gen 1 passenger side brake only or both rear?

any help would be appreciated. And if i have to buy a new adjuster where would a good place be to get one. Preferably new.

thanks in advance.

heat should do the trick.. what are you using to heat it with? I belive you can get a wrench on the threaded rod, I would use vise grips, put the parking break on to snug up the slack, prop that pair of vise grips up under the body, and get the biggest wratchet you can on it.. It'll come loose. Or, snip the cable and get another one. I belive that one is the rear right side. Napa has the new cables, I would imagine they are the same size / length as my 92. Oddly enough they had no part number for a 92 but they did for a 95. :) So if you can't find it, ask for 95. they are like 15 bux each IIRC.
