E Brake question

Hey all...

While working on the black interior swap in bubba's wife's SHO, we got the dash in, and I got to this part and I am not sure how the e-brake handle attaches to the e-brake. Can some one take a pic of what it is supposed to look like? Or explain how it attaches? Or, just edit this pic and circle, arrow, whatever.

I looked at my '89, but I think it's different. The picture below is how I think the cable is routed. You might want to try that, and see if you can figure out the rest.
