How hard is it to swap out an MTX in a 94. My tranny is toast and it needs to be changed. The case is actually broken. I'm looking for tips or the best resource for info. Probably going to buy a used tranny from a boneyard.

It's pretty straightforward, but do yourself a favor and get the Helms shop manual (the real Ford manual). It has the step-by-step process, torque values, everything you need to do it right.

I'm going to keep an eye on ebay for that book. Maybe check the library. According to Ford this job should take about 5-1/2 to 6 hours. That means 12 for everyone else. Damn I wish I was rich.
