I was driving my 94 mtx sho with 215000 on it, pulled up to a stop sign and it died. Towed it home and listened for fuel pump, didn't hear it running so I Applied 12 volts at the fuel pump cutoff switch and it runs. I checked and not getting any power to the fuel pump cutoff switch. Checked fusses and everything looks good. Guessing that maybe its the ccrm module, so I removed it from the car and took the module apart, it looks good inside, no burnt spots or missing parts, I applied power and ground to both relays and the click. Any Ideas, I am guessing the module, maybe burnt contacts inside the relay? Any one try to solder a new relay into a module before?

Did you check the computer ground? It's the little wire coming off of the battery negative terminal.

Whats up E! Only 2 posts in 2 years.. geez.. lol

Anyway... it smells like a cps to me... have you tried to put it back together again and see if it starts? Computer isn't telling the relays to turn on for some reason... check the ground on the back of the intake too..

I wasnt thinking cps, but i anything is possible, the cps is about three years old put it on when i did the timing belt, those three years probably make up about 15000 miles or so. It only gets driven in the summer, I did put it back together and dose not get any power to fuel pump. If i give the pump 12v it runs great. Ill take a look at the grounds in the morning.

So today I investigated into the problem more all grounds appear good, so I looked closer at the ccr module. I was getting power in and out of the relay, but never made it out of the module. So I removed one of the big relay,(there are two big one and two little ones inside the ccr} because the ribbon wire goes under it. There was a burnt spot in the ribbon wire so I went to napa website and tried to find a ccr. I found one listed under fuel pump relay.

It doesn't have the sho engine listed on the web site but its the one they handed me at the store, put it on and the car started right up. It all seems better.

broke agian

Was driving it to my dads, about a 20 mile drive and it died again, no fuel pump.
So I said what the heck I know which wire goes to the fuel pump, ill just hook a wire up to the battery with a inline fuse and hook it to the fuel pump wire. The car ran about 15 seconds and blew the inline fuse, which was a 20 amp fuse. Could my fuel pump be drawing 20+ amps? Do I have a short in my fuel pump circuit some were? Is it just time to sell the car? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
