My drivers side wheel has developed a slight problem. It is not tire related I have tried 3 different tires on that corner, including a brand new one and they all did it. It is most felt around 25-45 it is a type of a rubbing or something not turning right....like a "whum whum whum" type thing. It varies with speed. It is made worse by turning left, and almost completely disappears when turning right. I can also feel it through the brake pedal when I brake - it becomes louder when I brake at times. I took apart the brakes today and they look just fine, no uneven pad wear or the such. The wheel bearings have less than 20k on them. I tried to find wear in them (by pushing pulling on the tire at the top bottom) and couldn't feel any. My next thought is that it is the axle. They only have about 12k on them - they are RAXLE units. I have taken the wheel off and inspected everything several times and can't find a problem. Does this sound like an axle problem, or a bearing problem? Or even a sticky caliper that I can't seem to figure out?
