well my driver's door is leaking water at the top of the door/roof line. i can't go to a car wash because it will just come down all over my leg. in rainy days, it isn't as bad but it still drips down on my pants and my window switches. i know JC Whitney sells weatherstripping, but i am not sure what the proper type/style my car needs.

thanks in advance.

Is the rubber torn? This is pretty unusual. I would try to find a 95 Taurus in the junkyard and rob the drivers side weather-strip. Don't use JC Whitney I doubt you will get the correct piece.

Must be something with 93's beacuase mine does the exact same thing. If it pours it drips. Funny thing is the rubber looks ok. No tears or holes in it.

Did you try cleaning and spraying down all your weatherstripping with silicone spray? It helps preserve and condition weatherstripping and may help. But likely if it is leaking by, there is no contact in an area due to squashed weatherstripping, or the door is not fit properly.

Stand at the front of the car and look to see if the door gaps are even between the drivers and passengers side. The drivers door may need adjusting.

If you really do need new weatherstripping, contact www.soffseal.com , they make excellent replacements.

My '91 does the same thing, only when it pours for extended periods of time. Once you move the car, it drips in on your leg/switches, and sometimes from the sunroof right over my head. But, I know that my driver's door is out of adjustment, you can fit your finger down between the door frame and the roof, though the weatherstripping still contacts where it should. The passenger side is much tighter.

My '91's weather tripping is all chewn up, the lip around the window looks as if it was peeled back, (attempted break-in), and my door needs alignment, too. squint

Funny thing is that it doesn't leak in the rain, though. Only in the carwash.
