Heres the issue. I have a 93 and the driver side brake keeps sticking. I replaced pads and rotors 6 months ago, and did remember to grease the slider pins. I havent had any problems with them until now.
When I've been driving I've noticed the smell of smoking brake pads
If I press the power brakes and release them then jack up the car, the rear brake (driver side only) stays partially engaged and the wheel will not budge, but after 5 minutes of sitting the caliper will fully disengage and the wheel will spin freely.
As I understand if the slider pins were frozen the caliper would stay engaged. I checked the rubber fuel lines and visually I saw no signs of them being collapsed or pinched.
My wheel has gotten so hot from driving under this condition that my valve stem cap has melted!
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated
Steve

sticky breaks

I had very similar problem with my 93 mtx. Ended up to be a bad hose. simple repair. Nothing wrong with the calipers!
I'd just replace the hose, its an inexpensive experiment.

I agree sounds like a collapsed brake flex hose. You will not be able to see it though. If you want to be sure try bleeding the brakes see how much fluid you get.

Well I finally had a chance to pull the brakeline off and install a new one. Problem solved, no more hot brakes! The bolts were a little stubborn to get loose, but patience, heat and finally vise grips got the job done.
Thanks Ishodu and shotic for the leads!
