Rockfalls Raceway in Eau Claire is having its first sport compact drag races of the season on sunday April 27. Its looking like there will be around 6 of us Minnesotans heading out.

It would be nice to see some of the WI club show up as well. It will give everyone a chance to beat up on a few Hondas... :naughty:

They have a website if you need directions or more details. I believe its around $50 or 60 to run all day. Hope to see a few extra shos out there and maybe meet some new people. :thumb:

Does anybody here drag race their SHO? GLD is opening up soon and I wasn't sure if that many on here really did that.

I dont remember the exact details but I believe they start racing at 8am and inspections start earlier. I got in a couple runs an hour and by noon I had my fill, but they continue through the afternoon. The morning is geared toward getting a feel for the track and lights. Then they have eliminations in the afternoon for prize money.

Last time we went we had two sho's there but im hoping with over a month lead time that more people can clear out their scheduals.

The big muscle cars aren't allowed on sport compact day, so you get a lot more runs on the sport compact days because fewer cars show up than usual. Also getting there early and having your car teched out helps to get more runs in.

I might go, but at $50 it sounds kinda expensive. GLD and WIR are usually half that.

Black_SES, I'll be at GLD a few times this year.

I've been to the first sport compact of the year for about 3-4 year running now but this year I will have to miss. I believe it is $40 to run tech opens up at 8. There will be time trials all the way till 1:30 when they will start Eliminations. If you get there right away, you will get A LOT more time trials in. A lot more runs get made down the track during sport compact day because you don't have the big dragsters and Muscle cars breaking down.

Not sure if i'm going to be able to make it and I no longer own a "running" sho but if i do go i will be running the SRT there. I am waiting for a few more parts to install the Stage 3 so we will see if i can get this thing rollin..

It's lookin like this weekend is a bust. Weather is just too crappy and it doesn't look like anyone from the MN SHO club is coming out. We're gonna shoot for the next Sport Compact Day, and cross our fingers for better weather.
