Are Stainless Works or PPE better?:) I'm looking at going no cats and leaving my exhaust stock.

Both do good work, but I think PPE is better, especially if going catted. 14SHOCAR had done a review recently on his experience with SW, don't remember if they were catted or not. Something about "buzziness", probably not an issue if the rest of the system stays stock. I know quite a few people are very happy with SW's product.

BamSHO - Thanks for the post about the Livernois Downpipes, I plan to purchase later this month.

Livernois Motorsports - I see you "liked" his reply but my question is about the "blown turbo seals" using non catted, since that was what I had plan to buy.

Is this an issue and if so, why?

Many thanks,
David.

I'm thinking it has to do with back pressure. With no catted pipes, there is no back pressure. Just a guess, but seems to happen to non catted cars more, that I have read about.

Hey David,

The reason why I declined to post in here without being asked a direct question is because the OP specifically asked about 2 other vendors. Just showing a little forum decorum is all. Sorry for the alliterative response.

The EcoBoosts have seal issues all by themselves. They fail rather regularly, and many dealerships will just go ahead and replace them without any further questioning. We never recommend using catless, because it doesn't make any sense to not have cats. Our race cats are so efficient that there is only a 1-3 hp difference between the two sets. Your butt is not that sensitive!

For me, it is a no brainer to go with our race catted DP. Mainly because let's say that you take the boss out for a nice dinner in your sweet $45k sport sedan. Do you really think that she would appreciate the fact that she smells like raw fuel all night? Now, I'm sure that you wouldn't mind her new ode de parfum...but I can almost guarantee that she would be less than pleased. So why not save yourself the night on the couch, and go catted? 1-3 hp is not worth the death stare that we all know and love. I know that I use this analogy a ton, and I'm sorry for using it again but I've been there so I use it.

If you go non catted, you become stuck with the stock catback...too many catless systems running around as smoke machines. Not all, but many.

I have catless downpipes and will be changing to the catted in the future. Probably a winter project along with some other 11 second efforts!
