Downpipes finally installed

Friends shop installed my LME Downpipes and '13+ oil cooler. I asked how the install went, he said that it went very good. They had to massage the rear pipe some to clear the rear axle. Nothing that would cause a restriction. First impression are that the car has more low end, and just a little more engine noise at WOT. Track opens up in 2 weeks for Test and Tune. Will have an update then.

With the down pipes is the car a lot louder in the cabin with drone? Or is it tolerable? Also did you have a check engine light after install, I'd like to install down pipes but I need the car to pass inspection as well as it is my daily driver I currently have the stage 4+ by livernois

I have the 3rd cat delete and Dynomax mufflers, but kept the factory resonator. Car is little louder and slight drone, nothing bad and wife and daughter haven't said anything. Plus I'm used to some drone from owning previous Gen's of SHO's. I'm running the 4X which is already setup for the downpipes. HAHA Jamie, it took me 4 years to get the car, so waiting for downpipe install was no biggy. Ready to get her on the track, but mother nature had other ideas and we got snow, big bummer. Mike, I would a 3bar map sensor and upgrade to 4X, believe me you will notice a big difference.

The biggest difference in acoustics with downpipes is the turbo spooling is far more audible inside of the cockpit. The exhaust note is fairly similar.

The spooling and BOV noise is somewhat addicting to hear now.

Yes, there is. It's illegal, it pollutes, and catless harms the environment. Please enjoy the SHO and use a catted system.

A number of guys with no cats (off road down pipes and remove 3rd cat in rear part of exhaust) report oil burning out of the exhaust. People think it's lack of back pressure, so oil seeps through the turbo seals. Others say turbo seals are bad and need to be replaced.

I'd go with cats, the gains isn't worth it.

Well at the moment I was planning on just doing the catless downpipes and keeping the stock exaust on it until about winter. I work at a exaust shop that has all the materials I just need to know the degree of the bends and what not. Anyone know where I could find this information?
