94 SHO ATX, not that it matters with the door I guess.

MY right rear door will not open.
Never has since I got the car, the outside handle doesn't feel like its connected anymore, broke clip most likely on it.
The inside handle feels like its sorta connected.
I'm thinking that maybe someone flipped the child safety lock n the door jam.

Is there a way to flip it with the door closed? I tried a hacksaw blade already.

If nothing else has anyone pulled a door panel without having the door open?
Do I need to pull the back seat to get it out? :thankyou:

the back seat will need to come out to get the panel off w/ the door closed.

depending on what is wrong, you might get the door open w/ one of those bars that the tow truck driver (or thief) uses to unlock cars when the keys are locked in it. if you have AAA or similar, that might be worth a try first.

Try this:

Roll down the window, peel back the top portion of the panel, pull out the felt window seal. Then you should be able to look down inside the door with a flashlight. Locate the latch mechanism. Push down on the lever connected to the outer handle.

On the gen I's there a screw holding the top rear of the panel that is not accessible with the door closed. Not sure about the Gen II's. Either way, you should be able you pull out the seal once you pull the top of the panel out a little.

Good luck. Hope this helps.

You might be albe to see down in there without yanking the felt seal once the window is down. Try that first. :)

on the Gen2 doors, the top of the panel overhangs the metal of the door, so you need the bottom loose in order to allow the top part to move up so you can pull it out. unless you can pry it up enough to do that (never tried that) but it would seem like a good opportunity for the panel to crack.....
