alright well my locks were at one point working... I'm not sure why not now. I started looking through the book about fuses and found that it is some big 20amp thinger, looks more like a relay than a fuse. I hooked a test light up to it, and the fuse relay thing is good.

Maybe it uses a different fuse? because power seats are supposed to be on the same thing and they worked with it out....

I'm not even sure where to start on it because even if the actuators are bad you can still hear the switch trying to lock or unlock it....

I put a test light on the locks, not sure if there should be more than 1 live wire but with the key on there is 1 live wire amongst the bunch.

The back door lock will not go down, so I'm gonna tinker with that later today trying to diagnose the problem, but I'm running out of ideas

The power locks work with no key on.
Start at the master switch.
Power comes in there then out to all lock actuators.

I'm assuming by master switch you mean lock/unlock on drivers side? If so then there's only 1 live wire in there and it was the lights for the switch.

If there's a relay for it, or fuse I'm not sure if its location please advise.

alright I found a wiring chart on it.... the pink with yellow and I think pink with green, not looking at the chart so I'm just going by memory there are the lock/unlock wires. I think it's negative trigger though.... I tried a pos wire and it just sparked on it.

Pretty sure the fuse/relay is bad.... can anyone please tell me where to find it?

Fuse panel under the dash... #14 is a 20amp circuit breaker.
It also powers the windows, seats and keylesss.

Unlock mode: The drivers front door lock switch PK/LG wire feeds to the passenger front door lock switch.
From there it feeds all PL actuators via a PK/O wire.

Lock: The drivers front door lock switch PK/Y wire feeds to the passenger front door lock switch.
From there it feeds all PL actuators via a PK/BK wire.

The PL actuators are normally ground through both front door switches using the non hot wire as a ground.
So for the unlock circuit: PK/LG to PK/O and a return path of PK/BK to PK/Y.
And for lock circuit: PK/Y to PK/BK and a return path of PK/O to PK/LG.

The shop manual says for no function from either front door switches.
A) No voltage to the front door switches.
B) Open ground from circuit from passenger side switch to drivers side switch.
C) Open power or ground feed to motors.

Ain't wiring fun ?

yes it's wonderful.... whats the PK/LG .... ohhh light green/pink =)

I checked the #14 circuit breaker it doesn't run the power seats, with it out they still worked. I checked under the hood there's a fuse under there for windows/locks. Fuse was good..... I guess I can check grounds or just make my own. I don't know....
I would say no voltage to front switches, but what would cause that if everything is good.... broken wire.
Grr...

Engine compartment fuse #J for PL, PW is a 40 amp fuse.
Instrument panel fuse #14 is a 15amp fuse.
Wiring as well as wire colors same as mentioned above.
Specs above were for a 1991.

sorry for the delay the remote keyless entry box in the trunk. it should be in the drivers side forward corner of the trunk.

I don't know how to test it, but I know it can cause all sorts of problems. Go to a junkyard and get a "new" one they are fairly cheap. Any any 92-95 Taurus with keyless entry will work.

Wrong on the RKE boxes.

'92s don't have a remote - the keyless entry box is different.

I think I might know what it is.... there were 2 modules behind the seat in the car. I thought they were both amps to do with the factory stereo in the car, I bet one of those was for the lock system, I'll see if I can find it and give it a shot
