The sensor is in the latch that triggers the door ajar latch. You should try cleaning in there then relube the latch. More than likly one of your rear doors.

my moms 98 had the same problem..the int. lights would stay on with the doors closed and the door ajar light on the dash would remain lit. She still had her warranty though, so she took it to the dealer..all they did was spray..something..into the latches in the doors..made a nice mess in doing so too.

I've tried cleaning all the door sensors, the interior lights works together,I cleaned the door sensors with electronic contact cleaner. I've removed them and inspected them, it still works. The "door ajar" light stays on on normal driving, with all the doors closed. Any other ideas?

The latches the hold the door closed. Thats where the switch is that triggers the light. They door ajar light has nothing to do with the interior light switches.

Those, I've checked those, I was under the impression that there were other ones I was not aware of. I'll check it again.

Thanks
