-I have notice when I wash my car or it rains and the door key pad gets wet it will do some crazy things and generally not work, I have found if I dry it with a towel I can get it working. This keypad is less then a year old because it didn't work at all when I purchased the car so they installed a new one. I am not losing any sleep over it since I always have my key on me, I don't really trust the locks on the car that much (I have seen the car unlock or lock just because it wants to), but I was wondering if this is an equipment or design issue. I was curious so thought I would see if anyone else had the same issue, hope your having a great day, Thanks in advance for your help.

When I spray mine with water (both the 2013 I used to have, and my 2016), they light up. If you happen to have the key fob on you and you're close to the door at the time, I bet it'll lock/unlock if you hit the door handle with water too.

since they are capacitance-sensing touch things, it makes sense that water could sometimes trigger them. this is the kind of thing that Microsoft would consider a "undocumented feature" but most of us think are not how it should work...

Sometimes my car just locks itself or unlocks itself on its own regardless of water on the key pad. It does light up and such when wet, I never tried to open it with my key in my pocket but I do know trying to enter a code and get it to unlock will not work. In general the key pad is useless when it has been rained on or gets wet during a wash. You would think is this is a fleet wide issue Ford would have addressed it by now.
