I recently replaced the driver side front window and when it goes up it comes out of the channel on the rear. It will pop back in and go all the way up though. The window is also shifting towards the front of the car. When the window is all the way up I can pull it towards the rear of the car and it will move slightly back.

I don't know what to adjust or what is causing the problem. I read a thread where stormchaser asked the op if the window moved forward, but there was no explanation. If you could chime in that would be great, because it seems to be my problem.

I'll look into it more when I have time. thanks

This is a problem that I've encountered as well.
But still have no answer.
Originally I thought the plastic bushings that hold the glass to the scissors mechanism were at fault.

I was just reading your restoration thread today, I remember reading you replaced the door glass.

I got the car with a broken window so I don't know if this was a problem before. The rear channel towards the top seemed to be bent out and I bent it in more, maybe that caused it? I'm going to look at the rear window guide tomorrow and see if I can solve this. In that thread I referred to stormchaser suggested that.

One thing I discovered is you don't have to remove the regulator and motor to replace the door glass. I was going to until I realized you can just bend that metal tab down and remove the window from the scissor mechanism that way. I figured i'd include that as there didn't seem to be a lot of information about door glass replacement.

I never knew the windows could move this fast with a properly greased setup.

I don't have my sho manual infront of me ( I'm in the semi ) but there is a procedure in there for adjusting the play/movement of the window. If I remember correctly you loosen the 2 nuts toward the back of the do that are for the window scissor and then push the window all the way back and hold it there and tighten the nuts. Not positive don't have book on me

Oneqwicksho could you post that info when you get a chance. It would be much appreciated, the wind noise is annoying.

There is adjustment for the run channels and one of the tracks that the scissor mechanism runs in. When I painted last year I took all the glass out and getting the windows to run true again was a bit tricky. You could also just have worn out guide followers too.
