After opening my door panel and hooking up a speaker (I'm rewiring my speakers around the amp, because of the head unit in my sho now; don't ask wink ) and lubricating the lock mechanism, the door ajar light stays on. The interior lights work fine, though. Also, I found some 2-pin gray plug, fairly large, along with a white wire with a metal connector on the end, and tied them back and cut the white one (they were rattling and getting in the way of the window). Could cutting this white wire have cut the ground for the light or switch for the door ajar light? If so, where could I ground it to? Thanks for any suggestions!

The door ajar light is fired by a switch attached to the latch mechanism inside the door. It's on the top of the latch and has a single black & orange wire going to it. It fires by grounding, so the wire you cut probably had nothing to do with it. Did you use WD-40, etc. to lubricate the latch? You might have just drowned the contacts in the switch to cause the grounding, or you might have forced some contaminent into the switch. Give it a day or so to see if it clears up on it's own. Otherwise you'll have to pull the panel off again.
