occasionally I'll get an erroneous door ajar light, which keeps the map lights on while driving and then after the drive the map lights stay on and instead of one beep to tell me the car is locked I get two.
only thing I can think of is it might happen after my wife has used the key to lock the doors instead of the button. other than that, I don't know if there is a rhyme or reason.

anyone else experience this? its quite annoying, sometimes it lasts for a couple of days, and then it just magically stops, and I'm back to one beep.

no see, its not the mechanisms, its the sensor. I already tried flicking the mechanisms, it has no effect

Do the WD-40 bit.

The sensor is attached to the latch mechanism which is sticking. The WD-40 will free up the latch and it will then operate the sensor properly.

Be prepared to liberally spray it several times, depending on how crudded up it has become.

BTW, this "fix" used to be a "sticky" at the TCCA site because it is so common.

gotta love the Forum. problem fixed, atleast for now, may need reapplication. :thumb:

whats that saying, start with the easiest or cheapest fix and work your way up til you get to the solution? somethin like that. well I guess I am impatient and don't "stick" with possible solutions long enough to see them through.
bad habit.

I did notice the mechanisms are black on one side and grey on the other, so either the previous owner had them replaced or its a Ford thing , put in whatever they had on hand, like the sway bars
