The door ajar light stays on in the car. The previous owner told me he didn't know why. The doorhandle for the back passenger door on the driver's side is broken, could that do it? Or is there a sensor or connection I should be looking for?
Thanks in advance

my 90 sho does the exact same thing but on the passangers door im pretty sure it is just a sensor because when i lock all the doors and turn the car off the cabin lights go off, obviously the lights would stay on if it wasn't shut properly

mine does it too, i think its because water got into the hole where my antenna used to be and shorted out the wiring inside the door jam. you can actually check each sensor and find out which one is bad, it takes a bit of patience and time tho. just keep 3 doors closed, remove the sensor from the one open door and disconnect the wires. when the light goes out, thats the bad conector. if it never goes out, then you have more then one bad one, so just buy 4 new ones and do them all.

What would these sensors look like on the door? Those black button things that are on the car that the door pushes on?

about 1/4-3/8" round metal thingy that pushes in when the door is closed. i forget where they are in the door jams, i haven't seen my doors in months. i can tell you exactly where later if you still can't figure it out.

I also had this problem, and it was on my back passenger door. Eventually, I tried just spraying some WD-40 on the switch for the door, and it has worked fine so far (since about this time last year). I would say try that first, it might just do the trick.
