Hello,
I have a SHO Shop y-pipe, and a custom 2-1/2" exhaust. As soon as the y-pipe went on, the "bellmouth" of the pipe cracked, (about half-way around) and the gasket was more or less, destroyed. I have been trying to find a gasket to match, but the closest I have come is one that is tapered on both sides. Will this work, or does it have to be flat on one side? Also, does muffler tape work, or will I just blow it off of the pipe?
And no, this is not permanent. It's just until I get a whole new exhaust. The good thing is that I'm taping up a $145 custom, single pipe, not some stainless dual exhaust. And who's gonna see it anyway?
