Anyone know if doing brakes on this car is easy or not?

I've never really tackled a brake job, but after getting some vibration on braking I've come to the conclusion that the front rotors are warped. The last time I had the brakes checked ( rears ) the shop told me that whoever cut the front rotors the first time ( dealership ) did so within the last mm's of their lives. I'm thinking that this means they have become warped.

I'm going to try this on my own, any special tools aside from the norm I'll need? Are rotors costly?

Thanks guys

You can get front rotors from autozone for $30 bucks, and rears for $25. Actually the brake job is easy, the hardest part is getting the bolts out. remember to flush the fluid when everything is said and done, and you are set. if you are doing the rears, you need a special tool from napa or autozone, or you can try it with needle nose pliers, and the pistons rotate clockwise to retract them. Just use a big c-clamp to retract the fronts. That's about it. If it's your frist time, make sure you do one wheel at a time for comparison, and leave yourself an hour per wheel. Good Luck!!!

Bewarned that (*&#Y&$ caliper tool is pretty much a pain in the ****. I got the autozone version. It doesn't fit very well. Just take your time. It's no harder than doing it on any other car.
That is...if you've ever done it before..

NAPA has a good sturdy rear caliper piston screwer-in-er. It fits Ford and GM cars. Beware there rear E-brake spring. Do not take it off as it is very difficult to put back on.

When I push the pistons in, either in the front with the c-clamp or the rear with the tool, I push them all the way in. Remember you will not have good braking until you stop a couple of times.

The rotors might have some thin spring nuts that hold them on. They do not need to be replaced. Also use pleanty of silicone grease on the slider pins. The slider pins seizing up is the biggest problem with Fords brakes. They will hold the pad against the rotor and wera one side down quickly.

After a couple of times it becomes a 15 minute job per wheel. Not a whole lot to them. Also do not let the caliper hang by the brake hose.
