Does this sound like a bad master cylinder?

Well the brakes on the 91' have been sticking ever since I bought it. It happens after roughly 30 minutes of driving. I'll come to a stop at a light and the brakes will slightly stick. Tapping the pedal a few times normally releases it. I was thinking it was the pins were frozen, but I have since changed my thinking. I finally noticed that the actual brake pedal is sticking. I can pull it back up a half of an inch and the brakes release.

Sounds like maybe the master cylinder, anyone else have a similar problem?

Yes I have the same problems some times.

From what I remember, the brake booster can cause that problem. I am pretty sure that it is the culprit because my pedal sticks like yours and my brakes aren't messed up. The pedal just sticks some times and I have to move it back up a little with my foot.

I have the same problem with a 91 as well. The peddle is slow to return, but the brakes are releasing. Anybody know why?

I've got that same problem, I purchased that car that way and spent close to about $500 to get it fixed, they replaced the master cylinder with a genuine ford one (said it was heavy duty) worked good for a bit but it still does it slightly, but not as bad. I'm pretty sure its the break booster, so i was told by many other people. the guy who had this car before me had it bad it was warping roters...seems okay for now, but i know someday i'll have to replace the booster...

Ahhh,the 91 SHO thread :)
As per SHOTIMES.COM,just get a spring mounted to the pedal arm to help pull it back up.It`s the brake booster.

Definately the booster. I replaced mine about 10k ago. Big diference in brake effectiveness. Couldn't believe how I could drive with it like that. One other thing I bought an aftermarket one and it didn't come painted so I had to paint it before install. I didn't remove any brake lines from master cylinder just bent it out of the way, but...I wouldn't recomend this It took a lot of work to weasle the booster in that way. But I didn't want to bleed the brakes :)
