does a 92 SHO have VAPS???

Hey all, I need to buy a rack.

Gosh they are expensive. I was wondering though, does my 92 have VAPS. From looking at the rack, I don't think it does. There's no actuator on it, but the prices the auto parts stores are giving me are around 200-250? How can that be for a rack without VAPS?

Autozone, its like 45 or something,
If you have 4 wires going to the top of the steering rack, then it has vaps, if not, you don't. Look directly undre the brake booster, about 8 or so inches down, it is obvious if you do or not. Good luck. Craig

If you're sure you don't have VAPS and if you're not in a rush this guy sells rebuilt racks on eBay pretty regularly for $34.95 + $20.00 shipping: eBay Seller

O'Reilly Auto Parts sellsethe A-1 Cardone remanufactured non-VAPS rack for about $75 exchange. Scott has posted the part number several times.

I need a rack for my 93 - wow would I like to use a rack from a Gen 3. Anyone know if this could come anywhere near fitting?
