I have a 90 MTX and I did the shifter clip from dodge to fix one of the cables... it worked fine untill just now... As I was pulling into the driveway i lost all but 1st gear... so I poped off the shifter plate just to find the plastic that the ball actuall snaps into is too worn out to hold at all... it looks like a little peice that should be easily replaceable by something ( all it looks like is a tiny plastic trim screw cover)

anyone know what I can use to replace this? or have any ideas?

thanks!
Chris

This happened to me recently, too. The ball socket end isn't available separately; you must replace the cable. A new cable is available from FPN, but it's rather pricey. I got a used one that bound to break someday, since it's just as old as the one that broke already. When that happens, I intend to modify the shifter to make the cable junction unbreakable.

Thanks... kinda sucks to hear there is nothing i can do about it heh... but I will hit the local hardware and car parts stores to see if thereis somethingI can use... otherwise I am going to look for a rod shifter set to ease my woes :) .. it is a shame no salvage yards around here have SHO's frown
