Where and how do I disconnect the butterfly/secondaries... I have a tapping sound that seems to be the timing belt tensioner or the butterflies (I've already searched)...
any of the vacuum lines going to the round cylindrical thingy behind the intake will disable the system. Also the connector on the black thingy on the driver's side of the round thingy. (it's a vacuum reservoir)
you can unplug the wires that go to the vacuum controller too, there is a plug with a green and red wire on the back of the manifold...
FWIW, my butterflies tap too, I have to take the intake apart and fiddle with the plates, since they are what is causing the tapping noise... i think ill go for a more permanent fix this time
Hmm well that didn't do anything... now I'm worried... at least I know the rod bearing where done 30k ago... I'll make a new thread with a better title...
electrical connection on the rear of the intake... right in the middle i think against the firewall. under the black tube with vacuum line attached. why i know this? years ago i forgot to hook it up when i had the intake off for a major cleaning. a month later i dug around and found it.
Your secondaries(/butterflies) are either opened or closed, they don't tap. Definitely check on the crank cancer but most likely it's the timing chain tensioner. Run another search to pull up information on how to fix them.
