When i first bought my car one of the first things i noticed is that the DIS module was way to close to the engine struts. I know i have bad and worn sub-frame bushings. But when i put my alum. ones in will that move the motor up and give me some more clearance? shrug

Yes, it will fix the spacing issue.

Inspect to see if you have had the SFB bolt recall done. Do this first to make certain you don't have a failed mounting point.

Since you are so close to the strut right now, I would strongly suggest getting the SFBs installed ASAP. I would also remove the strut damper temporarily to prevent damage to the DIS from its striking the strut.

Also, check your motor mounts to ensure that are not contributing to the mis-positioning of your engine.

Drive the car very gently until the SFBs are replaced and the motor mounts have been inspected, and if needed, replaced.

When i had my car in the shop for the clutch i had them replace the motor mounts since they were there anyways. I bought two recall kits so those will be ready when i get my alum. SFB's. I need to watch it and not do any hard shifts or hard turns.

So has the actual recall been performed? You sidestepped that question and it is very important.

This is a FREE recall from Ford and is absolutely recommended if it has not been done. It's goal is to prevent one or both rear corners of the subframe from dropping. Your symptoms indicate that you might be experiencing some drop of the subframe and consequently is in urgent need of an inspection.

I don't use words like "absolutely" and "urgent" carelessly.
