Okay, when I removed the Dis module from the intake it looks like it had some sort of white grease between them. What was this and do I need to replace it when I put the Dis module on my new intake?

That is heat sink grease and it is used to thermally bond the DIS to the cool intake manifold. This grease is not the same as dielectric grease, but you should be able to find it at an electrical or electronics supply.

When you reapply it make sure you wipe both surfaces with rubbing alcohol before applying the DIS. this will insure both sides are clean, so the thermal compound can do its job. No touching either side after you alcohol it, and when you put the dis back on, try to keep from moving it back and forth, and trying to "seat" the thermal compund will actually hinder performance.

If this "heat sink coumpound" is the same stuff you use between computer cpu's and the heat sink, then you can pick it up at radio shack for about $1.50

I used dielectric grease when I put it back together. Should I clean it up and use heat sink grease? What are the effects/possible effects of using the dielectric grease?
Thanks,
Efren

Yes, dielectric grease is the wrong stuff. Go to radio shack or a computer store and buy heat sink compound. It comes in a small 2 gram tube. Clean the back of the DIS and the ****** of the intake and cover both surfaces with the heat sink compound.

Well guys, here's what the Ford manual says:

1. Apply an even coat of approximately 0.80mm (1/32 inch), of Silicone Dielectric Compound WA-10, D7AZ-19A331-A, Motorcraft WA-10 (ESE-M1C171-A) or equivalent to mounting surface of ignition control module. Install ignition control module and retaining bolts. Tighten bolts to 2.5-3.5 N-m (22-31 lb-in).
