Hi everyone, this is my first post here hope I can go from there lol.

I have seen many ecoboost builds with direct port methanol and I have not seen any reviews about them. Are they better then have a bigger jet pre throttle body? And is there a huge gain from them?

Direct and even distribution to all cylinders. You don’t get that with pre throttle body jets. It’s better for the engine not necessarily better performance

How about installing it myself? Any pointers on that? I got myself into the SHO game pretty quickly and went with LMS for tuning... for better or worse. (That aspect aside) They’ve said they’ll tune remotely for.. and sold me the parts to install.. direct port meth kit. What else should I be modding in addition to the stuff I’ve already done (install their tune, plugs, stat, 3bar) ... I’m not super worried about pulling the manifold and drill/tapping the holes but any tips about pitfalls there would be good... just anything anyone can think of I might need to know that isn’t obvious.

I'd just pick up another intake manifold to drill and tap. Now tapping aluminum can be a bitch to do. I've done it for years, I have machinist papers and still need to be extra careful when doing it. Upside is the intake manifold in that spot is thick, when doing a single port on the intake pipe it's better to just weld on a threaded meth bung.

yeah, thought about that, maybe it is a good idea. they're not that much if i recall correctly... $150 maybe? is there any porting or mods that can/should be done or anything else worthwhile while i'm in there? is the gasket reusable or whats the procedure there?

Maybe add the phenolic spacer, while you are at it. If you get a new gasket set, please get the Ford oem set. The Mahle set that's cheaper on rockauto gave me fitment issues. Possibly too thick of gaskets. Ford's set isn't too much more anyway.

would it be worthwhile to like spoolgun some extra metal on the drill/tap spots on the manifold? i don't have an ac tig. just dc. how should i tap them to avoid ripping too much metal out?

Im new here but have 30++yrs with this all the way back to a Buick Grand nationals

Im not a dyno queen but here is what I know from 4 other motors.

Over all gains are minimal in direct port vs spacer/spray bar/charge pipe nozzle. HOWEVER, (before I get flamed) I have had cars with data logging egt in each header runner and the direct port was more consistent on exhaust temps. If you squirt somewhere prior to the intake some cylinders will get more than others. NO intake has perfectly equal flow, this is the same reason on nitrous motors running BIG shots they normally go to individual port runners rather than front of the intake at that level you can't afford inconsistency. Anyway, I didn't see big mph gains but It was easier to tune. I was using speedpro back then. If you're just wanting to max out one of these lil motors Id consider it..
