I picked up a used ATX alternator that was very recently rebuilt. I tried to install it today and noticed something. It appears that the stock alternator is bigger than the alternator I was putting on.

The alternator I'm putting on it a World Class reman'd unit # 13212. That number cross refrences with my year SHO. Has anyone else noticed this?

The only problem I see is that the bracket that bolts on top of the alternator will not fit. Should I be concerned?

No, that alternator will work...for how long is anybody's guess. I went through 5 of those POS things. I finally got a used 94 ATX alternator and has been working ever since. I don't know why the top bolt doesn't line up, all of my world class units had this phenomenon.

Thanks for the reply! I took it to a reputable shop to see if it was up to ***** with specs and the guy said it was prefect. We'll see how long it goes... I'll be keeping my old one around.
