While I was out getting lunch, I passed by a gen2 taurus wagon and it was in pretty good shape. I looked at the headlights and they looked different. The front headlight plastic was clear instead of having the difuser lines all over and it had a silver center cap directly in front of the bulb much like the gen3 headlight housings. I'm curious, whas this type of housing ever available for us sho users or was it just a taurus slo thing?

No those lights were only available on certain 95 SLOs, IIRC. Not only do they not fit the SHO, but they suck at lighting the road.

Wasn't the Sable supposed to be the higher end model? Wouldn't it have made more sense for the Sable to have better lighting?

Welp, it sucks to hear that they:
A) also suck at lighting and
B) aren't available for the GenII SHO
I really liked how they looked.

I think I'm gonna buy a new set of lights for my G2. I sanded and polished them and while I can see better, you can still see the yellowed glue when you get somewhat close to the housings. :frown:

Is it reasonable to pay around $130ish new per side? (with fishbowls of course!) Or is there another vendor that has them significantly cheaper?

No, I just bought new aftermarket housings on eBay. They came to about $150 per side with shipping. I'm pretty happy with them so far.
