Hey all,
My 95 ATX started slipping yesterday, but not the typical 1-2 shift that I've been finding in the searches of old posts. Mine is slipping when you take off from a complete start. It reminds me of when my clutch went out on another one of my cars, it seems to rev a little bit more before grabbing and taking off. Then tonight I thought I would try and start in low (1st) - it was like nothing was wrong. Started it in 2nd gear and same thing - caught quickly and seemed normal. Then put it back in D (drive) and it "slipped". Has anybody else had this problem, and if you did, how did you fix it? I'm needing a flush and fluid change - will this cure it or is it something totally major??!! I just hit 130k last week.
Thanks in advance!!

Well generally your symptoms would indicate low fluid level, but since it works in the other two ways I would think it may be a problem with the torque converter lockup and it's being forced to unlock when you put it in 1 or 2. This is just a guess though.

You're right - the fluid level is normal. That's the first thing that I checked.
(thanks for replying so fast)
