Diff questions?

I was wondering what the symptoms (if any) of a diff pin coming lose or has already been thrown? I found 2 small cracks in my diff case and cant figure out how they got there unless its just fatigue crack or if the diff pin created it. The car runs drives and shifts perfect, so I have a had time believeing there is a problem with the diff its self, but I dont know enough about it to know what the symptoms would be if the diff pin is working its way out or is already out. I JB welded the cracks (I know that sounds ghetto but I thought I had nothing else to lose) and the diff no longer leaks. I was just wondering what ya'll think If the cracks were from fatigue or from the diff?
Has anybody else had cracks in their diff that wasnt caused by diff pin?

Well reading through the search, there is no doubt that its going to eventually throw the diff pin. I was just trying to hope for the best. But I still would like to know what you alls thought are. here's a pic of the cracks.

If the case is cracked, it's from your diff pin. There is nothing else that could put that much stress on the case to crack it.

Replace your transmission already....

Or do a couple of burnouts and show the diff pin the light of day!!!

I'm probably going to buy a quafie tranny from Toolman. I guess I was just hoping for a miracle. Thanks guys.
