I was going to try to get through the winter on the stock Goodyears but I tried them this morning and it would go but stopping was terrible.

I went down to Discount to price out the Continentals but my guy there had a set of Michelin Ice 3s mounted on 18 inch Drag wheels for $500 installed. They were take offs on a lady that totaled her SHO. Maybe 1500 miles on them. Now, this thing is an absolute tank! I've had many sets of winter tires in the past but with AWD , it just goes!

you stole them for that price .... don't run them to long in temperature warmer than 45 to 50 degrees

Yea, I've had winter tires since the early nineties. But not with AWD!

the "ice tires or stud-less tires, are a totally different animal to winter /snow tires. i run Firestone winter-force tires on my one truck all year round, if i tried that with the ice tires you got or my blizzacks would not even get 1,000 mile out of them

I meant I've had Blizzaks since the nineties. I Imagine they are close to the same compound as the Michelins as far as wear and usage.

Why would I have them on when it's 50 degrees ? I store my winter tires in the cool basement in the summer.

here in Pa we had 60 to 70 deg in December we did not get below 45 deg the whole month I just installed my winter tires on Monday that's how screwed up our weather been,

i also seen guys at work do not know any better and try to run the ice tires for the spring around here, and then complain that they did not hold up

the wear its amazing for the x-ice even in summer conditions. I know people who still have plenty of tread after 5 seasons.

Just got some snow and I must say this is the best car or truck I've ever driven on icy roads. :thumb:
