Of all the pictures of SHO's I've seen I've never seen another one with a SHO decal on the front fenders like mine has.

How uncommon is this?

If you talk about the marked one on my picture - standard on all 2013+ Taurus SHO

I wonder if the "SHO" is removable without damaging that piece. Has anyone done that, is it flush underneath?

2010 and above the SHO is not a decal. It is part of a decorative fender vent. As for removing the decal on earlier models I have heard of very good results by using a strip of fishing line and running VERY SLOWLY around the bask side and that loosens the sticker.

The 2013+ has them.
My 15 has them but I plasti-dipped them

It is all one piece so you cannot pull just the lettering off.

Its very easy to dip without removing from the car.

I do not have a good picture of it and the wife has the car for a work trip to Charlotte, I wanted her to take it as it is AWD and her Denali is no and there is severe weather coming.

I'm aware of the mod of replacing the fender vent, no this is on my 2011 SHO and it is a decal under the fender vent. I got the car used however it appears to be original and the car only had 17K miles on it when I purchased it. Not something I would think the original owner would have done had they only kept it for that short a time. I purchased the car in 2011.

I'll post a picture when she gets home with it.

Actually, I was wrong. Mine is the regular "Taurus."

I can't dispute this as I am not the original owner, I'm the second, but when I purchased the car in early 2012 it only had 17K on the speedo. The car was about a year old when I purchased it and there were no mods done to the car.

Definitely not OEM. Most car manufactures don't use "decals," in the first place.
