At about 7000 miles, our SHO picked up a strange buzz (like a vibrating exhaust shield or something) right at 1500 RPM. Didn't matter if you were standing still in park or driving. If you really eased into it say from a stop and the up shifts brought it below 1500 it would buzz for about a 50 RPM range going past 1500 RPM's.

I was sure it was something rattling, but after keeping it 3 days they were convinced it was in the valve train on the RH side. They apparently used stethoscopes, some type of chassis monitor system, etc. You couldn't even hear it from under the hood or outside, so I was certain it was something rattling against the chassis or firewall. I DID NOT want my new engine cracked open at all, and to make it worse this dealer had not torn into any ecoboost engines yet!

They had me wait about 3 weeks for their heavy line tech (and also a loaner car) to be available. They said it wouldn't hurt anything (?) to drive it in the meantime. They did end up taking the intake manifold off, but then discovered (as I tried to tell them) that it was some lines rubbing. The fuel lines (supply, return, vapor etc (4 total)) apparently run in a tunnel along the right side of the chassis. Where they exit this tunnel near the firewall mine was missing some isolaters which caused the buzz you could hear from the interior. Now there is a TSB out for this issue.

I hate being a guinea pig, but I am glad it was solved without dismantling my new engine too much, and maybe this report will help someone on here if they have a similar problem.
